Developing and Communicating your Vision

"Visions are reflections of our fundamental beliefs and assumptions about human nature, technology, economics, science, politics, arts and ethics".

- J. Kouzes & B. Posner,

The Leadership Challenge

Leaders in the organization must convey to those they aspire to lead an image of a possible future. We call it a "vision" and without that vision, directions have no real meaning. But…understanding this in the abstract isn’t good enough, since clarifying and communicating that vision comes naturally to very few people.

Following the course charted by Kouzes and Posner in The Leadership Challenge, this leadership development workshop (or module within a larger workshop) encompasses the following:

The importance and meaning of a vision

Sources of a vision

Seeing the possible futures

Seeing the desired future

Looking to the past to create the future

Sharing the vision

Enlisting recruits

Empowering the recruits to share the vision
